Warning. This is not like my other blogging. I’m gonna use big girl words and talk about things that are near and dear to my heart.

Okay, I mean other things that are near and dear to my heart.

I know I mentioned briefly in the past that my husband Brad started a non-profit this last year or so called iEmpathize. It’s an arts and advocacy org that gathers artifacts and media on the issue of child sex trafficking. He puts together art exhibits and films, does empathy weeks on campuses, and generally gets the word out about this horrible crime against children. iE also collaborates with carefully selected grassroots organizations on the field who are really getting the job done, but may be overlooked or have the inability to raise sufficient funds for themselves. iE produces two forms of media, one for the field partners in their own languages, and one to engage the public. You can check out the website and I would also highly encourage you to visit the blog. This is where you will see the film teasers and media work.

That’s why I’m so excited to share this giveaway with you.

My good friend Rebekah made me aware of an amazing organization called Nomi Network, Buy Her Bag Not Her Body.

Here’s what they are about:

Buy Her Bag Not her Body is created by Nomi Network, a non-profit organization working to eradicate sexual slavery and the trafficking of women. We’ve created a partnership between the fashion industry and cause-driven, well-designed merchandise made by at-risk women and survivors of sexual exploitation, providing them with fair, sustainable employment opportunities. Supported by people like you, our stylish, high quality products don’t just look good, they do good. 100% of the profit is reinvested into training and career development programs for women. For more information about our work, please visit our website at www.nominetwork.org.

The bags are really great. Very durable, super cute and really practical. Did I mention they are really cute?

I’m gonna use this wristlet for my coupons. That’s just how I roll.

And this next one I’m going to give to one of you. I absolutely love it and I’m totally gonna order one for myself.

It’s a tote bag.  It’s very roomy and more importantly, features the color orange.

Here’s the front. ( I wish I had a better picture. You can check out their website for better views.)

Here’s the back. See that little pouch? You can put things in there. Be creative.

But wait! I’ve been holding out on you. That little pouch has a secret.

Yep. The whole thing folds up and fits right in there. I couldn’t be happier. So easy to take with you on shopping trips.

I can’t think of a better way to spend money than to support organizations like the ones I’ve mentioned, not only during the holidays, but year round. I would encourage you to check out their website and do some shopping. And they have generously offered a 10% discount if you use the code BLOGGER2010.

I have one more website for you.

My beautiful and talented friend Shauna has started designing her own jewelry to satisfy her two passions – art and justice. She just opened a Etsy site called Willow and Raven. I love her coffee covers and her head bands. And she will be donating 30% of her proceeds to iEmpathize and Love146. Consider browsing her site and choosing an original piece of jewelry for yourself or someone you like a lot.

If  you’d like to participate in this giveaway you can do two things.

1. Leave a comment, plain and simple.

2. For an extra entry, simply share this blog and leave a comment saying, “I shared”.

I really just want to get the word out and support the women and children across our world.

Giveaway ends Wednesday at noonish. I’ll announce the winner Wednesday eveningish.

Thanks friends.

Don’t forget that Gypsy Jules has a facebook where you can share the deals you’ve found and find out what’s out there for free.
